Epic Bridge Analyst
Job Summary
The Epic Bridge Analyst is responsible for the design, build, testing, implementation, and support of Epic Bridges (interfaces) that enable data exchange between Epic and external systems. This role ensures accurate, timely, and secure data flow across clinical, financial, and operational applications while collaborating closely with technical teams, vendors, and end users.
Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Epic Bridges (HL7, X12, APIs, and other interface types)

Analyze interface requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions

Configure and support Epic Bridges tools such as Interface Monitor, Bridges Admin, and related utilities

Troubleshoot interface errors, message failures, and data inconsistencies
-
Perform unit, integrated, and end-to-end testing of interfaces

Monitor interface performance and ensure system uptime and data integrity

Coordinate interface changes with Epic upgrades, patches, and third-party vendors
-
Document interface specifications, workflows, and support procedures
-
Provide on-call or after-hours support as needed

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational security standards
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Epic Bridges certification (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)

Experience with HL7 messaging (ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, etc.)

Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and data exchange

Experience supporting production healthcare IT systems

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Epic Chronicles/Clarity data structures
-
Knowledge of FHIR, APIs, or web services
-
Experience integrating Epic with lab, radiology, pharmacy, billing, or HIE systems

Prior experience in a hospital or large healthcare environment
