Epic Professional Billing (PB) Analyst

Job Summary

The Epic PB Analyst is responsible for the implementation, optimization, support, and maintenance of the Epic Professional Billing (PB) module. This role works closely with clinical, revenue cycle, and IT teams to ensure accurate billing workflows, compliance, and efficient revenue operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and support Epic Professional Billing (PB) functionality

  • Analyze business workflows and translate them into Epic system solutions

  • Build and maintain charge routing, fee schedules, modifiers, and billing rules

  • Support claims processing, billing edits, and reimbursement workflows

  • Collaborate with clinicians, billing teams, and leadership to improve revenue cycle performance

  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide root-cause analysis

  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and validation

  • Create and maintain system documentation and training materials

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and payer requirements (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid)

Required Qualifications

  • Epic PB certification (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)

  • Experience with healthcare revenue cycle or professional billing workflows

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience with system testing and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Epic analyst or Epic application support experience

  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding basics

  • Experience working in hospital or physician practice environments

  • Familiarity with Epic Reporting Workbench or Clarity (optional)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • May require on-call or after-hours support during upgrades
