Epic Bridges Certified Analyst – IRIS Interface Engine
Job Summary
The Epic Bridges Certified Analyst is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of healthcare interfaces using Epic’s IRIS Interface Engine. This role ensures seamless, secure, and reliable data exchange between Epic and external systems (clinical, financial, and ancillary) using HL7, FHIR, and other integration standards. The analyst works closely with clinical, technical, and vendor stakeholders to support interoperability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Interface Development & Support

Design, build, test, and maintain Epic Bridges interfaces using IRIS Interface Engine

Develop and troubleshoot HL7 (ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT, SIU, etc.), FHIR, and flat-file interfaces

Configure interface specifications, mappings, and transformations
-
Monitor interface queues, error logs, and message flow to ensure uptime and data integrity
Implementation & Project Work

Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives

Collaborate with application teams, vendors, and integration partners on interface requirements
-
Support system cutovers, go-lives, and post-implementation stabilization

Document interface designs, workflows, and support procedures
Troubleshooting & Optimization

Analyze interface errors and data discrepancies; perform root-cause analysis

Coordinate issue resolution with Epic TS, vendors, and internal IT teams
-
Proactively identify opportunities to improve interface performance and reliability
Compliance & Best Practices

Ensure interfaces comply with HIPAA, security, and organizational standards
-
Follow Epic best practices for Bridges and IRIS configuration
-
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Epic interoperability tools and standards
Required Qualifications

Epic Bridges Certification (required)
-
Experience working with Epic IRIS Interface Engine
-
Strong knowledge of HL7 v2.x messaging standards

Experience with healthcare interoperability concepts and workflows
-
Ability to read, analyze, and troubleshoot interface message data
-
Strong communication and documentation skills
