We are seeking an experienced FHIR Architect to design and implement solutions for healthcare data interoperability. This role involves working with healthcare systems, including EHRs, to ensure seamless data exchange through FHIR APIs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in HL7 standards, FHIR, and cloud technologies, particularly Azure, to lead projects focused on healthcare data exchange and integration.
Job Summary:
- Proficient in HL7 (Health Level 7) and its different versions, with a strong focus on FHIR.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, interpreting business requirements and transforming them into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare IT systems, interoperability standards, and data exchange protocols.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with healthcare data exchange protocols and data mapping.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and their integration with HL7 and FHIR standards.
- HL7 certification is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in Application Architecture for healthcare domain applications.
- Expertise in FHIR, HL7, and CCDA standards for healthcare data interoperability.
- Strong understanding of FHIR resources, profiles, and implementation guides.
- Programming expertise in .NET, C#, Node.js, and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Azure FHIR APIs, Azure Functions, and Azure Logic Apps.
- Familiarity with Azure services including API Management (APIM), Azure Storage, and Azure Data Factory.
- Knowledge of Azure Key Vault for secure key management.
- Understanding of Azure networking concepts and network security groups.
- Familiarity with Azure Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, including Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Azure AD Connect.
- Mandatory experience with Azure FHIR to Azure Health Services.
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in FHIR standards, Azure services, and infrastructure management.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement FHIR-based solutions to expose patient clinical and claims data through FHIR APIs.
- Develop solutions to ingest data from both external and internal systems into the FHIR repository.
- Collaborate with clients to define the optimal architecture for FHIR data infrastructure.
- Stay up to date with CMS mandates and advancements in the FHIR domain to provide effective solutions to the client.
- Lead the development and deployment of FHIR APIs using Azure services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EMR systems with Azure services.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in healthcare data exchange.
- Continuously monitor and improve the performance, scalability, and security of the FHIR architecture.
